OPERATIONAL DEFINITION

Total number of technology know-how that has been licensed as at year of evaluation (e.g.,
licensing agreement and ownership transfer of IPR).

Notes:

1. Closely held information in the form of IP, including inventions, formulae, designs,
drawings and procedures from licensing institutions that may assist the licensee of the
product/process.
2. Licensing should be worth at least RM10,000 and may be licensed to more than one
company.
3. The duration of time for the licensing process transaction can be more than one year and 135
can be taken into account once the process is completed.
4. Technology that is licensed to holding companies under HEI’s assessed spin-off
companies that are registered with the authorities is taken into account.
