KPI 6 | NUMBER OF NEW REGISTERED
SME BUSINESSES
The Kurhula Community Farm project continues to be a cornerstone enterprise for the Cubo community, addressing
employment, skills development and food security. This report period saw successful harvest yields in sugar-beans
and tomatoes. After planting, all leftover seedlings were distributed to community, after harvest all third grade
tomatoes were given to the community and all of the maize rests were given as animal feed.
A new small enterprise was initiated during this report period, in the Khumani Community. A high-class and modular
maize meal crusher was purchased for installation. This is the primary step towards developing economic capacity
for the community as we jointly build the business plan around local maize producers supplying the crusher to
produce bagged maize meal for sale to the local region. The expectation is a fully functioning business model and
partnership by the end of the next report period.
