KPI 8 | DOWNSTREAM POSITIVE IMPACT
The Kurhula Community Farm project has created tremendous excitement and positive energy among the members
of the Cubo community, the Mozambican Government and in the surrounding areas.
As the staff compliment of Karingani and Kurhula grows towards reaching its goals and objectives in the various
departments, so too does the peripheral effects of employment increase. One measure of this is the direct relationship
between employment and access to improved healthcare. This reporting period saw a 9% increase in the total staff
complement from the previous reporting period with a total of 246 people with improved access to healthcare.
A second measure of this is the ‘downstream’ positive effect of employment towards the family members of Karingani
staff with a stable income has a positive impact for over 650 additional family members and dependents.
