Currently the three significant landscape-level strategies being implemented are: the hydrological restoration and
water augmentation strategy; the reinstatement of an appropriate fire regime; and the population enforcement of
naturally occurring large mammal herbivores and predators to restore historical diversity and abundance. A shortfall
in resources has meant that little progress has been made on hydrological projects, while an appropriate level of
burning was undertaken during the dry season of 2020 (see page 33). Similarly, due to Covid restrictions, no further
herbivore or predator population reinforcements took place.
