Chapter 2

The Light Begins to Shine

When I woke up I saw a faint light in a narrow tunnel. I got up, put my bag

on my back and hobbled down the narrow tunnel towards the light. When

I eventually reached the light, I realized that there was another one, a
hundred metres away. This went on 4 more times after that. On the sixth

light, I started to see that the tunnel started to turn into a cavern, not an

exit. I walked into the cavern and started to see buildings made out of rock.

I thought to myself that who or whatever lived here was very intelligent.

Then, out of nowhere 10, maybe 20 things with masks on, appeared

around me and yelled “FOOD, FOOD, FOOD”. Then I was shoved into a bag

and hit with a club until I passed out.

When I woke up, I was dangling over a massive pot in a cage made of rock.

I looked out of the cage and saw about 100 of these things and one was

standing on a rock in front of the pot. He said something that I couldn’t

make out, but it definitely got the crowd’s attention. I suspected that was

their leader. It turned and took off its mask to reveal a human. I yelled out

“I AM HUMAN TOO!” So everyone could’ve heard me in the cavern.

Everyone sighed and let me down. When I had got down I asked the leader
what his name was and was there a way out. He said that his name was

Joe and if there was a way out there wouldn’t be anyone here.

So it turned out if I hadn’t come here you kids wouldn’t be born.
