The History of Shivenham F.C.

Shrivenham Football Club was founded in 1900 and in the last 20 or
so seasons has made steady progress from North Berks Division Four
to the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division, unfortunately Shrivenham
dropped down to Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One West, but are
now back in the Premier Division.

In 1997-98 ‘Shrivy’ won top honours and were crowned North Berks
Division One Champions as well as lifting the Charity Shield in an epic
final beating arched rivals Saxton Rovers 1-0. In 2000-01 season
‘Shrivy’ once again were crowned North Berks Division One
Champions and due to ground improvements, successfully made the
step-up to Uhlsport Hellenic League football. In the 2004-05 season
‘Shrivy’ became Champions of the Uhlsport Hellenic Division One
West after beating Trowbridge Town to the title by a single point
following a superb campaign. During the 2006-07 season the club
had floodlights installed at its Barrington Park home and were
granted Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League status.

Shrivenham also have a reserve side competing in the Uhlsport
Hellenic League Division Two West. The club is also extremely proud
of its fast developing youth section with Shrivenham & Watchfield
Royals competing at several age groups around the area. In recent
year’s the club has invested heavily into the pitch at Barrington Park
and can now boast one of the better playing surfaces in the league.
