After having clinched the title seven days previously, Bristol City were unable to
end their successful campaign on a winning note when they went down 2-0 to
Birmingham City.
Lucy Quinn put Birmingham ahead after fourteen minutes and Charlie
Devlin added the second on the stroke of half time, to secure a result which means
that the Blues have taken the runners-up spot.
London City Lionesses will have to settle for
a third place finish despite scoring nine times without
reply against Coventry Utd. Jamie Lee Napier set
the Lionesses on their way by scoring a hat-trick
inside the opening seventeen minutes and after
Harley Bennett made it four, Amy Rodgers and
Atlanta Primus added further goals ahead of half
time. After the break, Sarah Ewens netted a brace and
Shanade Hopcroft also got on the scoresheet to round
off an emphatic victory.
Charlton Athletic and Crystal Palace will
finish in fourth and fifth place respectively after their
derby match ended in a 1-1 draw. After a goalless first
half, Melissa Johnson netted her twelfth league goal Durham Women’s Jess Clarke takes the ball round
of the season to put the Addicks in front and Elise Lewes goalkeeper Sophie Whitehouse (Will Cheshire).
Hughes equalised nine minutes later. The result was
the first time that Palace had drawn a match this season, in the last game.
The point was enough to see Crystal Palace
finish above Southampton, whose first campaign

to hand Rovers their second victory in a matter of Sunderland 0
