Bristol City kept up the pace at the top of the table and have gone five points
clear following their 2-0 win away to Charlton Athletic. Shania Hayles kept
up her fine run of goalscoring form by giving City the lead and Ffion Morgan
made the points safe with the second goal, midway through the second half.
Second placed London City Lionesses meanwhile were held to a
goalless draw by Blackburn Rovers. The result brought
a halt to the Lionesses’ three match winning run, whilst
Blackburn maintained their improving form by taking
their unbeaten run to three matches.
Southampton went level on points with London
City Lionesses after they won 1-0 against Sunderland.
For the second week running, Ella Pusey scored the only
goal of the game to give Saints the points, this time finding
the net just before the hour mark to keep up her side’s good
run of form.
Crystal Palace got back to winning ways with a 1-0
success away to Durham Women. Anna Filbey scored
the winning goal a minute before half time, to take Palace
back into the top four.
Only eight goals were scored in the six league
matches on Sunday, the most of match came at Lewes striker Emily Kraft (right) takes on
Birmingham City where the home side defeated Hayley Hoare of Coventry Utd (Will Cheshire).

the heroine for the Saints as she gave them a first -
minute lead and went on to score a hat-trick as Southampton 3 (Wilkinson 1,38,42)
