The County Leagues...
Gloucestershire League
Title challengers Olveston Utd suffered a huge blow to their chances when they were beaten 2-0 by
Bristol & West. An own goal put Bristol & West ahead early on and Emma Cove scored the second,
twelve minutes from time, to inflict a first ever league defeat on Olveston and leave leaders
Pucklechurch Sports requiring five points from their final three games in order to sew up the title.
Longwell Green meanwhile renewed hopes of competing for the runners-up spot as they scored
seven times without reply past Abbeymead Rovers. Kate Michael had another good day in front of
goal by scoring five times, with the others coming from Kylie Allen and Hayley Bullock. Gloucester
City can still take a top half place and kept themselves in contention by beating local rivals
Longlevens 4-2. Rakiya Morgan-King and Zoe Gabb each scored twice for City, with Lauren Mills
also netting a brace in reply.
One match was played in Division Two and it saw Bristol Rovers Development gain swift
revenge for their County Cup defeat to Cirencester Town seven days earlier, by winning the league
meeting 1-0. Gift Ihejieto scored the game's only goal to move Rovers back above Ciren and into third,
four points behind leaders Dursley Town in what is set to be a tight race until the end of the season.
The top three teams in the Division Three table did not play, and this allowed Kingswood
Women to make up ground on them with a 3-1 win away to Tewkesbury Town, courtesy of a Sian
Towler hat-trick. Amy Carter scored the only goal as Olveston Utd Res beat Stoke Lane Athletic
1-0 and Downend Flyers Res ran out 4-1 winners away to Winchcombe Town. Michaela Adams
hit a hat-trick for Downend and Debbie Small was also on target, with Laura Andrews replying.
Greater London League
Headstone Manor have moved into fourth place in the Premier Division after beating Regents
Park Rangers 3-0 in the only match played. Erica Augsten netted two of their goals and Jade
Doherty was also on the scoresheet.
Queen's Park Rangers are back on top of Division One North again, they edged out East
London Ladies by the odd goal in seven. Amelia Halawi netted twice alongside Jessica Francis-
Weir and Rosalie Coughlin, with the home side replying through Simone Folkes, Katherine Gee and
Vivienne Jeffers. Brentford B are up to third following their 7-2 victory over Luton Town Res in
which Calli Weaver bagged a hat-trick, with Chloe Logie (2), Karen Abou-Abdallah and Chloe Webb
adding the others. Laura Johnson and Sheree Oliver each netted consolations for Luton.
In Division One South, the only match played produced plenty of goals as Balham Panthers
shared a 4-4 draw with South London Laces. Paula Milla and Rebecca Rylott were amongst the
scorers for Balham, whilst Laces found the net through Laurelle Jordan (2), Josie Alderman and
Mamus Emosivwe.
Sheffield & Hallamshire League
Sheffield Utd Community Foundation climbed into Division One top spot, a point clear of
Harworth Colliery, thanks to a 4-0 victory away to bottom team Wakefield Trinity U21. Connie
Dyson (2), Caitlin Cooper and Tia Needham scored for United whose destiny is in their own hands
with each of the top three teams on equal games played (9 out of 16).
Division Two leaders (and most likely champions elect as they have a 100% record from their
10 games so far) Handsworth Development were without a game. Second placed Kiveton Park
maintained their three point advantage over Socrates with both recording away wins by a single
goal margin. Mikayla Harper, Zoe Parker and Sara Tyler netted for Kiveton in a 3-2 win at Sheffield
Wednesday Development. Socrates, who have three games in hand on Kiveton, edged a seven-
goal thriller against Sheffield Utd Community Foundation Res thanks to goals from Demi
Cassinelli (2), Paula Higgins and Helen Kean. Ayesha Khan, Nic Stray and Sarah Wilson-Rust were
the home scorers. Both Kiveton and Socrates are due to visit Handsworth in early April for games
which will have a huge bearing on the order of the eventual top three. Swallownest climbed to
fourth spot, but are well off the pace for the top three having played more games than the other teams
in the division. They made it seven league games without defeat since losing to Handsworth last year
with Zoe Blythe’s goal enough to secure maximum points at Mexborough Athletic. There were ten
goals at Mosborough where the hosts finished 6-4 winners in a topsy turvy game against Sheffield
City who fell behind to an early an own goal, but then responded with a trio in their favour for a 3-1
