FA Women’s National League

       Northern Premier Division
The leadership changed hands once again in the
division on Sunday with Derby County returning
to the top after beating Hull City 3-1. Ellie Gilliatt
netted a first half brace for the Ewe Rams and after Helen Lynskey had reduced the
arrears, midway through the second half, Megan Tinsley sealed the points for Derby with
       four minutes remaining.
Derby therefore head the table on goal difference from Wolverhampton
Wanderers - who have played three games less. Wolves stepped up their challenge with
a 3-0 victory away to Nottingham Forest, Laura Cooper and Helen Dermody putting
them two ahead at the break and Anna Morphet adding the third during the second half.
Huddersfield Town made up ground on the top three, thanks to a 2-1 win at
Stoke City. Brittany Sanderson and Paige Crossman scored the goals for Town, whilst
Stoke's reply came via a Callan Barber penalty.
Brighouse Town bounced back from a midweek League Cup defeat to run out
5-0 winners away to Middlesbrough, who remain in the bottom three. Leah Embley and
Drew Greene each scored twice for Brighouse, with Lucy Sowerby adding the other goal.
       Southern Premier Division
With title rivals Ipswich Town and Southampton FC Women meeting each other in
the Vitality Women's FA Cup, Oxford Utd enhanced their title hopes by winning 3-1
against Crawley Wasps. Carly Johns, Beth Lumsden and Daisy McLachlan all scored a
goal apiece for the U's, whilst Crawley's consolation came from Tash Stephens.
Gillingham remain in fourth place after their meeting with Portsmouth
finished in a goalless draw, which extends the Gills' unbeaten run in the league to eight
       matches.
Bridgwater Utd meanwhile moved back up the table, climbing above London
Bees after winning their meeting 3-0. Ellie Strippel opened the scoring for Bridgwater
just after the hour mark, before they went on to crown the victory with late strikes from
       Meesha Dudley-Jones and Jenna Markham.
Milton Keynes Dons are out of the bottom four following their 2-1 victory
against Chichester & Selsey. Nicole Pepper and Lucy Wood were on target for the
Dons, with Chi replying through Natasha Wild.
Plymouth Argyle defeated Keynsham Town 5-0, a result which leaves the
teams level on points. Kayley Lane gave Argyle the lead just before half time and they went
on to add further goals from Zoe Cunningham, Natasha Knapman and a late Mari Ward
       brace.
       Division One North
Liverpool Feds have opened up a lead of five points at the top of the table following their
3-2 success away to Chester-le-Street Town. Amy Seagraves scored what proved to be
the winner for the Feds to add to earlier goals from Chantelle Thompson and Beth
Donoghue, whilst Nichole Havery netted both for the Cestrians.
Stockport County meanwhile continued their improving form with a 7-1 victory
over Alnwick Town. Maria Figueiredo led the scoring for County with a five-goal haul
and the others came from Jess Battle and Olivia Dixon, with Lucy Bowman replying.
