In Memory of Carla Heaton
This has been an emotional season for The Centurion girls at
Cirencester Town with the devastating news of the passing of their
number 1, Keeper Carla Heaton early on in the season. Carla was a
very talented goal keeper who was in her 3rd season for club, was
loved by her teams and very much missed. Her teammates learnt of
this very sad news a few days before facing Bristol Rovers
Development in the 2nd round of the league cup. The team made a
brave choice of playing the game and dedicating it to Carla. Bristol
Rovers gave the girls a guard of honour, a beautiful reef was laid in
centre circle and a minute silence was observed. The team were
overwhelmed from the support the football community and family,
with other teams doing minutes silences, applauding and donations
made to Carla’s fund. The team extends their thanks to everyone in
the football community for their kind support. Whatever the result
Today the girls have done Carla proud.
Carla sadly passed away on 21st Nov 2022 at the heart-breaking
young age of 22. She was in her 3rd season for Cirencester. Before
that she played for Swindon Town. She was a pleasure to coach and
highly regarded by all and loved by many.
