Good afternoon all ,

A very warm welcome to Crown Fields this afternoon to the players , club
officials and supporters from Shepton Mallet. It's nice to be at home at last
on a Saturday afternoon in which what will be without doubt yet another
strong test of our resolve. We also extend a warm welcome to this
afternoons officials, referee George Lynch and his 2 assistants, Simon
       Laraway and Jack Clench.

Since my last notes , prior to the home game with Bradford Town , a game
in which we came out on top thanks to a strong performance and a brace
from Jordan Metters it has been a bit of a mixed bag for us on the pitch. In
the league we have not been able to add further to our points tally from
three testing away games, yet with a bit of good fortune it could have all
been so different. We have competed strongly in all of the games and
caused good sides a few problems but sometimes , as frustrating as it is ,
you just don't get the just rewards that your efforts deserve. That will
change if we continue to play with the spirit and commitment shown to
date. Sandwiched in between this was of course a handsome 5-0 victory
over local rivals Oldland which keeps our interests going in the FA Vase and
rewarded with a home tie to come with Bashley from the Wessex Prem on
       31/10/2020.

One day it will be nice to finish without having to mention Covid. Sadly that
is not the case today , with tougher restrictions having been announced this
week and with a number of scares surfacing locally the message remains
as strong as ever. No one wants us to return to playing behind closed doors
or worse still not at all so please stick to the guidelines, act responsibly and
       stay safe.
       Enjoy the game. .

       Ade Cole
       Club Chairman
