game went into injury time, sending a header narrowly past the post after Russo had again
created the chance.
United threw on Martha Thomas as an extra striker to try and salvage the game and
a late corner was to be their best opportunity, Aoife Mannion’s header from Zelem’s kick
being blocked and Galton drove a shot at goal, but straight at Berger.
There were no more scares from that point for Chelsea as they closed the game out for
yet another Cup success.
Chelsea therefore continue their domination of
the tournament and were able to celebrate once more
with maybe their trophy winning experience being the
biggest difference between the sides on the day. United
are making rapid strides in a short space of time under
Marc Skinner though and their day is surely not too far
away.
