Kiveton Park climbed into top spot in Division One thanks to a 4-0 victory at Rotherham Utd
Whitehill. Mikayla Harper (2), Sky Hughes and Zoe Parker were on target for Kiveton who have
17 points, one more than previous leaders AFC Bentley who have two games in hand, as they do
on third placed Chesterfield who won 3-2, courtesy of goals by Chloe Foster (2) and Paige
Singleton, over Brunsmeer Athletic.
Swallownest won 4-1 at bottom team Dronfield Town Res to move level on points with
Division Two leaders Handsworth Development. Tasha Lindley (2), Emily Allen and Kristi
Boyes were on target for Swallownest with Mollie Wordsworth netting the consolation for
Dronfield. Victoria Egege (2), Jade Burke, Channy Rymer and Sarah Wilson-Rust were the
scorers for Sheffield Utd Community Development who were winners by the odd goal in
nine at home to Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.
Division Three leaders Staveley Miners Welfare, who have a 100% record from seven
games, were without a fixture, while in the two games played the next two teams, Dearne &
District and AFC Norton Woodseats, both scored seven away from home to set up some
potentially intriguing clashes with Staveley whose next five matches currently include both
meetings with their title challengers. Norton are the only other unbeaten team in the division as
they made it four wins on the road, without a goal conceded, with Lois O’Toole (2), Poppy Webb
(2), Courtney Clarke, Rebecca Hague and Ellie McHugh on target at Mind Over Matter who
have yet to score at home. Dearne have gone six games unbeaten since losing to Norton. Sophie
Norris was top scorer with a hat-trick, while there were singles for Kirsty Bentley, Danielle
Burrows, Emma Fleetwood and Abbie Walker (on her debut after moving from AFC Bentley in
Division One) as Dearne won 7-2 at Kiveton Park Res, Connie Dyson with both home goals.
In the delayed League Cup ties, Jessica Barrow included two penalties in her four-goal haul
as Penistone Church won 7-0 against Sheffield City. Danni Fletcher, Abby Mills and Alice
Norman were the other scorers. Nicole Moffatt netted both for Wakefield AFC Res as they won
2-1 at Mosborough.
Somerset League
Pen Mill have a lead of eight points following their 3-1 victory over Bishop's Lydeard Res,
Rebecca Roberts, Lorna Jennings and Lois Roadnight scoring their goals. Defeat for Lydeard
gave Bath City the chance to move into second, which they accepted with a 3-1 win against
Wells City. Emily Bristow, Koren Jones and Annie Hervey all scored for Bath, with Caitlin
Skinner replying. Tianna Allen, Molly Haskins and Alisha Stuart were all on target as Paulton
Rovers Res beat Portishead Town Res 3-2 to go third.
Burnham Utd continue to set the pace in Division Two North, Caitlin Stevens, Harriet
Rogers and Kelly Slocombe were their markswomen as they beat Cheddar 3-1 to go four points
clear. Highridge Utd replace Berrow in second place after beating them 2-0 with goals from
Abigail Nicholas and Louise Robbins. Porlock won an astonishing match 18-5 against Paulton
Rovers Development, Kezia Elson scoring eight times and Georgia Perkins contributing a
further six, with one apiece from Elizabeth Darby, Izzy Fitzgerald, Christina Storey and Helen
Wye. Ashton FC Women continued their improvement by winning 7-0 away to Woodspring
Women Res, Rachel Pitts and Edyta Sawon
each scoring twice along with Beth Oliver, Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire
Georgina Needs and Hannah Stott.
