“From the initial meeting I had with her back in 2013, her passion for the game was clear to
see from the outset and it has been such a pleasure to watch her grow into one of English
football’s biggest names and personalities.
“She joined us at the start of our journey as a professional outfit and has made an
undeniable impact on Manchester City as a whole during her time here, both on and off the pitch,
with her infectious enthusiasm to want to develop whilst helping others along the way ensuring
that she is now a true role model for the women’s game.
“She has deservedly earned her place in the Club’s folklore, and we wish her all the success
for the future.”
Head Coach Gareth Taylor also said: “Playing 194 games for one club is an incredible
achievement, and Jill has played a crucial part in so many of the team’s successes over the years
alongside making such a difference to the game as a whole.
“Her dedication and commitment to this Club both on and off the pitch is testament to her
character and she leaves Manchester City with legend status and the gratitude of everybody here
for her contributions.”
Georgia is Bayern bound
Manchester City striker Georgia Stanway has signed for Bayern Munich. The striker joined City
from Blackburn Rovers in 2015 as a 16-year-old and went on to make 186 appearances in all
competitions, winning seven trophies during that time.
She leaves the Academy Stadium with the mantle of being the Club's record women's goal
scorer, having found the back of the net on 67 occasions.
The England international has now brought the curtain down on her time in sky blue
however, with the 23-year-old making the switch to Frauen Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich
this summer.
Everybody at Manchester City would like to thank Georgia for her contributions during her
seven years here and wish her the best for the future.
Emirates Stadium to host more games
Arsenal are delighted to announce that Emirates Stadium will host at least six Arsenal Women
matches during the forthcoming 2022-23 season.
Building on the success of the 2021-22 campaign, when the Gunners’ first team played four
games at Emirates Stadium in front of tens of thousands of fans, the intention is to host a further
three Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixtures at the stadium.
In addition to this, subject to their result in Round 2 of UEFA Women’s Champions League
qualifying, they also plan to play all three UWCL group stage fixtures at Emirates Stadium.
“On behalf of the whole team at Arsenal Women, I would like to thank all our fans for their
support during the 2021-22 season,” said Head Coach Jonas Eidevall, commenting on the
news. “The backing we received both at Meadow Park and Emirates Stadium was
unbelievable. Whether you sit in the stands or are playing in the match, we are all part of one
team – one family. That’s what makes this club so special. It’s wonderful news that we will be
returning to Emirates Stadium for more games next year and we can’t wait to see our fans there
and at Meadow Park very soon.”
Current Arsenal Women Season Ticket Holders will be invited to renew their Season Tickets
from mid-July, following the release of the WSL fixture schedule.
The 2022-23 Arsenal Women Season Ticket will provide access to all 11 home matches in
the WSL, including the three matches at Emirates Stadium. Season Tickets will also include two
cup fixtures – the UWCL Round 2 qualifying match and their first domestic cup clash of the
season.
This year, for the first time ever, Gold Season Ticket Holders for the Men’s First Team will
be able to purchase a bolt-on giving them access to tickets for the six Arsenal Women matches at
the Emirates Stadium.
