P. 4
Good evening!
Tonight we play Shepton Mallett who have had a
fantastic start to the season. We go into it fresh
off the back of playing Buckland away, where we
gained a valuable point against a team tipped to
challenge for the title. In fact we came away
frustrated not to have won the game.
A similar feeling followed the Helston game the
Saturday before; again we competed well
against a team tipped to challenge for the title,
only for us to concede late much to our
disappointment.
The lads deserve all the credit for our good start
bearing in mind we are going into each game
patched up! Harley, Sauce and Metts have all
played through injuries in recent games, whilst Jordan Anstey is playing week in
week out knowing that surgery is required on a persistent ankle problem. Nathan
Curnock and Cam Ricketts also haven’t kicked a ball for us yet this season due to
long term problems.
Injuries aside I must mention the impact Will has made since joining from Paulton.
He is currently on 7 goals from 5 league games and leads the scoring charts for the
division. On the subject of goals, Matty Brown is now 5 away from 100 for the club
after his goal at Buckland on Saturday.
We go into this double header with
Shepton full of confidence; we know
these big games bring out the best in
us, and hope tonight will be no
exception.
Thank you for your continued
support and I hope you enjoys
today’s game.
John Allen
