Northern Premier Division
Fylde Women are back on top of the table again
following their 4-0 victory over Loughborough
Foxes. Beth Donoghue, Emily Hollinshead, Faye
McCoy and Laura Merrin all scored a goal apiece for the Coasters to help them return
to the summit on goal difference.
Huddersfield Town are now in second after they won 2-1 away to
Sheffield FC, to make it five victories on the trot. Two goals in the opening quarter of
the game from Laura Elford gave Town the points, despite Brooke Marsden pulling one
back for Sheffield before half time.
Nottingham Forest had started the day as leaders but are back in third
place after sharing a 2-2 draw with Hull City, who arrested their run of three straight
defeats. However it was nearly so much better for Hull who went two goals ahead early
in the second half, courtesy of Emily Smith and Rebecca Beech, before Forest hit back
with two late, late goals to salvage a point through Annabel McKechnie and Rosie
       Axten.
West Bromwich Albion kept themselves three points off the pace, thanks
to a 2-1 victory against Sunderland. Hannah Baines and Keeley Davies netted the
goals for Albion, whilst the Wearsiders' reply came from Holly Manders.
Derby County bounced back from a 4-1 defeat seven days earlier to record
a victory by the same scoreline, away to Middlesbrough. All of the Ewe Rams' goals
came in the first half, Sophie Domingo scoring twice inside the opening twelve minutes
with Ellie May and Callan Barber adding the others, whilst Rebekah Bass netted a
       consolation for 'Boro.
Burnley FC Women and Stoke City meanwhile battled out a 1-1 draw
which keeps both teams in the mid-table positions. Elizabeth Steele kept up her good
form for Stoke by giving them the lead in first half injury time, with Nicola Shirtcliffe
equalising for the Clarets five minutes after the restart.
       Southern Premier Division
County Cup duties and international call ups reduced the fixture schedule in the
division to a single match over the weekend. This saw Portsmouth move up into
second place, two points behind leaders Oxford Utd and in front of Watford on goal
difference, after they won 2-1 against Gillingham.
The Gills got off to a great start and took the lead through Otesha Charles just
three minutes into the game. Pompey hit back to level the scores thanks to leading
scorer Becki Bath, midway through the first half, and with four minutes left to play, Ava
Rowbotham scored to hand Portsmouth their fourth win in six matches.
       Division One North
Chester-le-Street Town notched up another win on Sunday, 3-2 at Barnsley, and
this has doubled their lead at the top to four points. The Cestrians had a great first half
and went three goals ahead at the interval, Nichole Havery netting a brace and
Charlotte Proud the other, before they needed to withstand a Barnsley fightback after
