P. 4
Good afternoon!
First of all I would like to start by welcoming
today's opponents Ashton and Backwell, always
tough opposition and we expect no different
today.
So here we are again, another season is upon us,
let’s hope and pray we can complete this one. If
we do it means we have gotten on top of this
awful virus which has affected us all for so many
different reasons in the last 18 months.
I know only too well the effects it can have after
losing my dad to it in January and suffering at the
hands of it myself. Dad watched all our home
games and he was our biggest fan: today will be
particularly difficult for me, but I know he will be
cheering us on from the best seat in the house.
The lads are well prepared for the game, we, like every other team have not been
without our problems pre season, our schedule being disrupted by cancellations
due to covid and some of our players having to overcome the virus itself. Thankfully
all have fully recovered.
We have made a couple of significant signings bolstering our forward line with Will
Hailston and Josh Clark joining from Paulton and Odd Down respectively, and
midfield player Sam Jones joining
from Odd Down as well.
So with an improved squad and a
good preseason behind us we are
looking forward to the challenges
that lie ahead...starting today with
hopefully 3 points.
Thank you for your support.
