Bris v Longwell Green Sports

Stephens rammed home his second and Brislington’s 3rd with his le .
5 minutes later George Jones con nued his goal scoring run with an outstanding
finish from a pinpoint Egan diagonal ball. Jones ming his run to perfec on to beat
the keeper who’d come to the corner of his box, to poke the ball neatly into the
net from just outside the box. 4-0 to the home side, who were uninspiring but
       ge ng the job done.
Half Time Brislington 4 Longwell Green 0
The second half saw Perks make an immediate change, Jordan Ricke s replacing
Jordan Me ers at half me.
On 53 minutes Griffiths was brought down a er another dynamic run in to the box
giving the hosts a penalty. This me however White was unable to convert, the
keeper saving low to his le .
Joel Smith then replaced Jordan Scadding, on the 57th minute.
On 60 minutes another lovely Egan free kick found Lewis Dunn at the far post, his
diving header was saved well by Bond who flicked it away for a corner.
Two minutes later the game was well and truly put to bed (if it wasn’t already)!
Great work from Griffiths on the right hand touch line set Buck off beyond his man,
he raced away and unselfishly squared the Ball for Jones who ruthlessly
dispatched for his 2nd of the game, Brislington’s 5th and his 9th in 3 games!!
Harry Tobin & Lewis Ewins replaced
                                            Dunn and White.
With the game won, Buck s ll had me
for one more effort as he beat the
offside trap to go one on one with the
keeper but his de flick was saved by
the keeper to deny the Foxes a sixth,
and on 90 minutes ‘the green’
managed to grab a consola on goal but
this was as good as it got for the visitors
who were second best despite (and it
feels odd to say it given the scoreline)
the home side looking lacklustre for
                                            large parts of the game.
Although not fluent and cohesive on
the day, it’s hard to fault the Foxes who
have con nued their remarkable run of
                                            20 straight league wins.
Next up a home e against Keynsham
Town in the quarter finals of the Les
Phillips Cup on Tuesday evening, then a
huge game awaits away to 2nd placed
