Norfolk League
Mulbarton Wanderers closed the gap on inactive leaders Dussindale & Hellesdon
Rovers to three points, thanks to a 1-0 win away to University of East Anglia. Charlotte
Groves scored the only goal of the game to take Mulbarton into second place, ahead of Long
Stratton who were beaten 7-2 by Sprowston Ladies. Mollie O'Callaghan netted a
hat-trick for Sprowston along with Anais Winney (2), Kelsi Adams and Holly Whayman.
Bungay Town were 5-1 winners over Stalham Town whilst Caister Ladies defeated
Beccles Town 3-1, courtesy of a Leah Brown hat-trick.
Mulbarton Wanderers Res emulated their first team by moving into second place
following a ten-goal blast against Bulldogs Ladies. Francesca Catchpole led the scoring
with a five-goal haul and the others came from Lucy Kean, Natalie Merry, Rosie McNarry
and Maria Sosnina along with an own goal. Aylsham Women went four better against
Shrublands Ladies who may well have caught the backlash for their recent defeats.
Jordan Arnoup was on target seven times along with a Sophie Lubbock hat-trick, Rhiannon
Dack, Florence Simpkin and Vicky Lubbock. Sophie Hall and Kiera Brown gave North
Walsham Town a 2-0 victory over Blofield Utd whilst Evie Tolson was on target for
Horsford FC Women in their 1-1 draw with Freethorpe, who netted through Laura
Parry.
Sheffield & Hallamshire League (by Julian Barker)
Just one fixture survived the wintry weather and for the second Sunday running, AFC
Bentley hosted Wakefield AFC Res, this time in Division One. Like the previous week’s
Cup encounter when Bentley, who trailed 2-0 before going on to win 4-3 thanks to a late
winner, did not have things all their own way.
Nicole Moffatt gave Wakefield an early lead and Jenna McGee levelled. Emily Walker
put Wakefield 2-1 up inside the last 15 minutes, but Bentley preserved their unbeaten record
when Becky Kendell converted a stoppage time penalty. Bentley are favourites to finish
Champions and this draw gave them 26 points from 10 games, now only three points behind
leaders Chesterfield Women who have just two games left compared to Bentley’s four.
Somerset League
Champions Pen Mill are still going strong and won again on Sunday, 1-0 against Bishop's
Lydeard Res with a goal from Nicki Stringer. Bath City Women meanwhile face a
waiting game to see if they will finish as runners-up after they finished with a 2-2 draw
against Ilminster Town Res. Jodi Cornwall netted a brace for Ilminster, whilst Bath
scored through a double from Amy Key. Darcy Baber was on target for Paulton Rovers
Res in their 1-0 victory over Wellington, which takes them into third place, whilst
Woodspring Women climbed out of the bottom two after winning 2-1 against Banwell
Ladies.
Highridge Utd finish the season in second place in Division Two North, rounding off
with a 5-0 victory over Woodspring
Women Res. Stevie-Jay Froom was on Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire
target twice for Highridge along with
