Beecholme Belles have won the Surrey Division One title in the South East Counties League
by a margin of nine points and only losing two games this season.
Beecholme Belles FC, Surrey's only all-female club, was founded in the year 2000. In
2018, a team primarily consisting of mums from the then U15’s team, came together to
participate in the Surrey County FA Recreational Festival. It was such a success, the team
went on to join the newly formed Surrey County FA Flexible League.
After a successful two years of recreational football, the County FA decided to
reintroduce women’s football, and started its own women's league for the 2021-22 season,
       where Beecholme finished fourth.
For the 22-23 season, Beecholme has two strong ladies teams competing for the Flexi
7’s and 11-a-side SECWFL. The seven a-side team compete in the Surrey Counties Flexi
‘Super League - South’, finishing strongly in fourth place this season.
Many of the players from the twenty-five women strong 11’s team have developed their
skills through Beecholme’s youth and girls teams over the years, becoming a part of the club’s
       development pathway, and history.
Every member of the title-winning squad have contributed and played their part this
season, often having to step in for availability impacted by full time work, health concerns
and childcare. The Belles haven't stopped at winning the league title - six of the league's top
eleven goal scorers are Belles - with Hannah Bowels and Dion Newton claiming first and
second place, contributing the impressive goal difference of 71!
Contributing to the team’s success on and off the pitch this season has been their
captain Sam Bird and off the pitch, Manager and Head of Women’s Development at the Club,
Michele Martin. Michele was one of the mums in the Club’s first team in 2018. The club are
also very appreciative of the travelling supporters with their never ending positivity from the
       sidelines.
It’s worth noting that 12 of the team played at Beecholme as girls, which proves the
Club’s player pathway is going strong. The Belles will be promoted to the Surrey Premier
Division for the 2023-24 season, where you can follow the ladies progress on Beecholme
