KEYNSHAM TOWN LADIES 3

       Manager’s Notes

Another home game and this time it is an evening encounter under
lights. Hopefully the promised snow fall will not reach this part of the
country and prevent our visitors from making the short trip down the
       M4 to the AJN Stadium.

At one time it looked as though we would be severely depleted for
tonight’s game with Mackenzie going to Ireland for St Patrick’s day
and both Nadine and Jade possibly unavailable. As I write, Jade now
confirms that she to be available and we have made an important
signing in Hannah Short, who will make her debut at centre back.
Hannah is a former Yeovil, Oxford and London City Lionesses player
with plenty of good quality football experience.

Last Sunday was an eventful day, when things did not quite go our
way. We were all at sea for the first half an hour. I don’t think I have
ever used 3 goal keepers in a 30 minute period before! Anyway,
having gone in 2-nil down, we got ourselves well back into the game
in the second half and drew level with two excellent strikes from Vicky Vipond; only to concede in
the final minutes, when a catalogue of defensive errors were our undoing.

The opponent has now moved up to third in the table and it shows, once again, that we can
compete with the best in the division, but just need 90 minutes of focus to see that reflected in
       results.

The season is now in its final stages and we need to pick up points and not repeat the squandering
of points as we did against Selsey and Moneyfields at the end of each game.

We will have another chance to pick up points in the next two home fixtures against Portishead,
this Sunday and St Austell, the following Sunday.

Last Sunday was remarkable in that four of our U18 squad made their Reserve team debuts in the
match at Plymouth Argyle. The team went down 1-0 when a goal came while we had a sin bin
imposed on a player, but Sven tells me that each of the debutants were excellent. Most were just
16 and an outfield player also played in goal. Clearly, good potential for the future.

On Sunday, the Reserves are away at Portsmouth, who have a strong side in the Reserve division.
For this evening’s match we welcome Robin class from Christ
Church Junior School and Downend Flyers U10 Rooks to the
AJN Stadium and hope they and their parents enjoy the
occasion. No doubt all will be focused on the No.23 player for
       Keynsham Town.
Let’s hope that we see an entertaining game tonight and add
to our points tally as a result.
