Cassinelli (2), Sophie Shemeld (Socrates' all time record scorer with her 50th for the club) and Amie
Webster were the away scorers. Both Sky Hughes and Sara Tyler scored braces with Riley Tabor also
on the mark for Kiveton Park who finished 5-1 winners over Rotherham Utd Whitehill whose
consolation came from Jessica Broadhurst.
Four teams can mathematically finish as Division Two champions. Table toppers
Handsworth Development completed their fixtures with a 5-2 defeat at Swallownest who
remain fourth with an outside chance of the title. Zoe Blythe bagged a hat-trick with Brooke
Chappell and Tasha Lindley also scoring for Swallownest, whilst Maheen Ahmed and Emily Clayton
replied for Handsworth. Based on remaining fixtures Mosborough, for whom Sadie Smith scored,
would be considered favourites and their 1-1 draw in the second v third clash against Penistone
Church moved them a point behind Handsworth and kept them a key single point ahead of
Penistone. Tiegan Abdy, Summer Ingham and Emily Marsden were on target for Dronfield Town
Res whose 3-1 win over Worsbrough Bridge Athletic lifted them six points clear of bottom
team Mexborough Athletic, whose squad has suffered with injuries and pregnancies to key
players. Lydia Rae was Mexborough’s scorer in a 3-1 defeat to Sheffield Utd Community
Development whose goals came from Jade Burke, Channy Rymer and Nicola Stray.
Rebecca Hague, Kat Pattillo and Katie Todd were on target for Division Three runners-up
AFC Norton Woodseats who won 3-0 at Kiveton Park Development. Nicola Grayson bagged
a hat-trick with Ashleigh Beck also on target for West End Terriers in their 4-0 victory at
Eckington Belles. Aaliyah Boreland, Kerry Clifford and Abigail Gervis scored for Charnock
Ridgeway in their 3-1 win at Mind Over Matter.
In midweek, Barnsley (Women) Development won 2-0 at Middlewood Rovers to
move three points clear of their hosts in the clash between Division One’s bottom pair. Brunsmeer
Athletic were 4-1 winners over Rotherham Utd Whitehill. Aveanne Drury (2), Selina Middleton
and Hannah Newbold (pen) were on target for Eckington Belles who won 4-0 at Charnock
Ridgeway. Melissa Bell (2), Lucy Chapman (2) and Ebony Jade netted for West End Terriers who
were 3-0 up inside fifteen minutes of their 5-2 success over Dearne & District whose replies came
from Charlotte Harris and Claire Unsworth. If West End win their final game, they will climb above
Dearne into third spot.
Somerset League
Bath City Women have taken the runners-up spot in Division One at the first attempt, clinching
the spot with a 2-0 win away to Wellington. After a goalless first half, Tara Taylor netted a second
half double to give Bath the result they required to seal a second place finish.
Holders Pen Mill have marched into the semi finals of the League Cup after Charlotte
Harmer, Rebecca Roberts, Letisha Templer and an own goal gave them a 4-0 victory over
Sydenham Rangers Blue. Pen Mill are the first side to reach the last four as the remaining
matches were all Second Round ties, including Paulton Rovers Res beating last season's beaten
finalists Bishop's Lydeard Res 4-0 with goals
from Alisha Stuart (2), Darcy Baber and Molly
Haskins. Courtney Bean and Hannah Sheehan Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire
