NW: I think the goal was to stay in the league this season and not drop straight back down. So
we have certainly cemented our place now. The fact we are aiming for second place speaks
volumes of our achievements so far. Nothing can be taken for granted, we still have some very
strong teams left to play and the next couple of months will decide our season.
NW: I’m very proud to play for Burnley women and the club has some amazing achievements
so far. Matt Bee and the team have worked hard to get us into this position. With the players
we have and the dedicated coaches there Is no reason why we can't move up and be in the
Championship in the next couple of seasons. I'm very excited for the future at Burnley.
Our thanks to Nic!
Army sixes success in Grantham
The 2020 Army Sixes has concluded and went extremely well in Grantham last week.
The overall winners of the tournament were 4 Regiment RA who beat 8 Trg Bn REME in
the final. 34 Field Hospital won the Plate beating HQ 1 Div in the final.
Despite the inclement weather the moral of the teams was first class.
Tournament organiser Major Mark Normanton said: "Those who visited enjoyed the
occasion especially from the CoC which was brilliant to see, they all annotated that the event
was outstanding and they will all enter their units into future events.
"The real plus was the football itself and the attitude of the players, another bonus was
that every team attended with coaching staff for the first time ever. We had senior staff officers
playing, supporting the junior ranks from their 2 Star HQ, Phase Two Trainees (they even made
it to the final), Reservists and Regulars underlining that the tournament reached out to all
aspects of the Army".
"I also take this opportunity to thank the Officials who were outstanding throughout and
really helped mentor those playing for the first time."
