Welsh Premier Women’s League

extended their lead at the top of the Orchard Welsh
Premier Women’s League to four points when winning 2-0 away to
                         n Sunday.
Stacey John-Davis gave Swansea the lead midway through
the first half, with Tija Richardson wrapping up the points with the
second goal, nine minutes from time.
One other match managed to survive the weather, at
                      where visitors were narrow 2-1
victors, a result which takes Port Talbot back into the top three places. Aber took the lead
through Tania Wilde ten minutes before half time and looked to be on their way towards their
first points of the season, but then Courteney Thomas brought the scores level midway through
the second half and deep into injury time, Lauren Armour broke the home side’s hearts when
       she grabbed the winning goal.
Two matches also went ahead in the Welsh Women’s League, neither of which
affected the teams in the leading positions.
consolidated themselves in sixth position after they ran out 8-3
winners over . Stacey Webber and Danni Franklin each netted four times to see Dafen
to their fifth league victory of the season, whilst Penybont stay just outside of the bottom two.
meanwhile picked up an important 4-2 victory away to
, which increases the gap between themselves and the bottom positions. Rose
Roberts was on target twice for Llangyfelach along with JJ Maddock and Georgia Martin.
The semi finals of the FAW Women’s Cup take centre stage this coming weekend,
both of which are being played at neutral venues.
