It has been a magnificent season for FC St Helens, as they carried off the Liverpool County
Women’s League Division One title with an unbeaten record.
FC St Helens Women was established in June 2021 by joint managers Amie Hand and
Rosie Havelin. Both managers played football and at high level throughout their own careers
and Rosie is an established Northern Ireland international.
With an incredible amount of experience being provided from both managers on the
training pitch, they have a group of players that are willing to learn, play attractive football
and become a team that is very difficult to beat.
In the team’s very first season in the Liverpool Women’s League Division Two, they
finished in second place, one point off the top spot and gained automatic promotion. This was
a huge achievement after one season and the team was heading into Division One.
Just a few weeks ago, FC St Helens Women became Champions of Division One, going
the whole league season unbeaten and gaining another promotion in such a short space of
       time.
Captain of the team, Tess Littler is one of the most experienced players in the team. Tess
leads with example on and off the pitch. She is an old fashioned centre midfielder, a very
clever player and powerful in the air. Alongside Tess is vice captain Emily, who is a
phenomenal player and has an aura that encourages players around her to give 110%. Both of
these players have played a massive part in what the team has achieved especially by building
a togetherness within the squad which for Rosie and Amie is the most important aspect.
The whole squad has chipped in with quite a few goals this season, but top goalscorer for
the second season running is Liv Hussey who has definitely gained the most with a personal
best of 25+. Liv works extremely hard and she has a great group of players that allow her to
       play with such freedom.
The season is not over yet for FC St Helens, this Sunday (14th May) they are playing in
the semi finals of the League Cup. The club’s aim is for a season double and the team will do
everything on Sunday to make it to the final.
FC St Helens Women are now recruiting for new players for the season ahead in the
Regional League as they look to keep building and getting their name out there.
