Rogers Returns to
Tiverton
Pitching In Southern League Premier
Division South club Tiverton Town have re-
signed experienced defender George
Rogers.
The 33-year-old is the son of Tiverton legend
and former manager Martyn Rogers.
He left the Yellows to join Toolstation
Western League Premier Division side Bitton
AFC for 2021/22 but, unfortunately, they
have recently had to pull out of the league.
He made his first Yellows appearance back in
2007 before re-joining at the start of the
2014/15 season.
He spent a large part of the 2018/19 season at Western League Wellington AFC after making
2 appearances in the Southern League Cup for the Tivvy first-team.
Brooks Makes Melksham Move
Melksham Town have signed forward Ben Brooks from Pitching In Southern League Division
One South rivals Cinderford Town.
Born in Newport, he started his career with home-town League Two side Newport County.
The 26-year-old played for Toolstation Western League side Bitton AFC before joining then-
Southern Division One South outfit Mangotsfield United for the first time in 2015.
He left for Larkhall Athletic and joined
Yate Town during 2017/18, where he
scored 16 goals.
He returned to Mangotsfield in June
2019 and then switched to Western
Leaguers Cadbury Heath a year later.
He switched to Cinderford in June
2021.
Melksham manager Richard Fey told
his club’s website: “Ben wanted a
fresh challenge and has always done
well against us, and this year so far
has 10 goals in 16 games. He is a
great signing for the club, and we look
forward to working with him”.
