Coco Briden, defender for the England Women’s Senior Deaf team said of the camp: “I’m
so honoured to be part of it and playing on these fields, especially when you know England
players have been playing on it and we’re doing it as well.
“Because we train here, we feel very involved and very inclusive, we feel like we are
England players. We are wearing our badge with pride.”
The England Women’s Senior Deaf camp at St. George’s Park is part of a busy 2022 as the
look ahead to the 2023 World Championships.
The camp follows the launch of The FA’s three-year plan titled Football Your Way in
October 2021, which is aimed at developing, improving, and increasing awareness of and
participation in Disability Football in England.

and suicide bereavement support charity.
Games will be nine-a-side and fixtures will be played on Wednesday evenings from April
to September. Players must be aged 16 and over. Entries close on Friday 25th February.
The date of the league’s AGM is Wednesday 16th March, starting at 7pm via Microsoft
Teams. The provisional start date for the season is Wednesday 13th April 2022 (This may be
subject to change).
More information regarding the format of the league and additional competitions will be

The Southampton anthem!
This month, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will be running workshops in Westquay to help
create an anthem for Southampton as a host city for UEFA Women's EURO 2022.
Musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will use photographs and items related
to women's football in Southampton to act as creative impetus for workshops. They will work with
participants to tease out musical and lyrical ideas for expressing the City's history, pride and
hopes for women’s football. No prior musical experience is required to take part in workshops,
and participants will be provided with instruments and resources. The team will support
participants to engage musically and creatively in a way that suits them. The musicians will then
take away all the ideas produced in the workshops and compile them into a women's football
anthem especially for Southampton. This anthem will be performed at a Fan Party on one of the
Southampton Match Days in July 2022.
Drop in to Westquay on Saturday 19th February and be a part of creating a brand new
Anthem for Southampton. Visit between 10am-1pm or 2pm-5pm and be part of something truly
unique to our City. The day is open to everyone and there is no cost to this event - we look forward
seeing you then!
This work is commissioned from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for the UEFA
Women’s EURO 2022 by The FA and host city partners, including Southampton City Council,
with National Lottery funding through Arts Council England. Workshops in Southampton have
been supported by our partners Southampton Music Services.
