FAW Women’s Cup

Swansea City moved into the semi finals with a 2-0 victory against CPDG Pwllheli of Genero
Adran North. The two goals came in a five minute spell ahead of the hour mark, Chloe Chivers
breaking Pwllheli’s resistance by opening the scoring and Katy Hosford adding the second goal
       shortly afterwards.
Cardiff Met Women’s hopes of lifting the trophy again received a boost as they won 5-0
away to Bethel Ladies. Stephanie Turner gave Met a fast start by giving them a fifth minute lead
but Bethel kept themselves in the game at the interval. Shannon Evans doubled their lead after the
restart and Lauren Hutton-Townsend made it three from the penalty spot. Turner then completed
her double and Laura May Walkley rounded off the scoring for the Archers with eleven minutes
       remaining.
Cardiff City Women meanwhile overcame a potentially tricky tie at home to Abergavenny
Women with a 6-0 victory. Ffion Price and Danielle Broadhurst put the Bluebirds two ahead inside
the opening fifteen minutes and although Catherine Walsh missed from the penalty spot shortly
afterwards, Amy Williams and Siobhan Walsh added further goals ahead of half time. City went on
to wrap up the win as Phoebie Poole and Zoe Atkins also got on the scoresheet late on.
Pontypridd Town complete the semi final line up after they defeated Barry Town Utd 2-0.
The first half was goalless and it was Pontypridd who broke the deadlock in the 67th minute when
Renee Day volleyed them in front and Efa Preece-Jones added the second three minutes later,
moments after coming on as a substitute.
