Manager’s Viewpoint

So we’re back at BBS Park for the 2nd time in just 5 days.

We played host to Chilcompton this past Tuesday. And unfortunately we lost for
       the first time this season.

Chilcompton are a very good side. And if anyone can finish above them this season
, they will be league champions.

However , we felt we got off to a great start. Forcing the play , high energy , first
to the ball. But despite a couple of decent deliveries and a decent effort by Dylan
Whittle we weren’t getting any reward for our effort.

On the 25 minute mark Chilcompton scored against the run of play with a great
effort from recent signing Dan Cottle. And another goal moments later from a
deflected free kick and Chilcompton turned the game on its head and knocked the
stuffing out of us. They scored at the perfect times.

We conceded a killer 3rd in the second half. And that was that.
Credit to the lads , they never gave up. And on another positive the attendance
was brilliant. Easily around the 200 mark. ( Despite our chairman saying only 120
       !!).

But as we said to the lads after. We are a work in progress.
An influx of new players. An additional new manager. And Tuesday aside it’s been
a great opening two and a half months.
14 games in league and cup. 11 wins , 2 draws , 1 defeat. Not too shabby.

We welcome Clevedon Utd to BBS Park today.
The first time we’ve played against Clevedon with out Mark Selway being in the
opposite dugout ! Very disappointing and he always invested good money in our
       bar after !!

Anyhow , as always we expect a tough one today against a good side.

       Good luck to everyone involved.

       Dickie.
