                                                  Mutterings

                                      Good Evening
                                      In my last programme
notes I had said we were
                                      looking for a response from
                                      the players after our tepid
                                      1-0 defeat to Odd Down,
                                      and as I predicted the
                                      players certainly gave us
                                      one.
                                      Playing against a very good
                                      Cribbs team who have had
a great start to the season,
                                      we played with the right
attitude and commitment required at this level.

Another assist on the night for Jordan Metters, setting up
Longy for the equaliser, meant we drew the game 1-1. 3
points would have put the tin hat on the performance, but
it was the latter I was more interested in; the lads have set
the standard again as we looked to build on it going into
Saturday’s tough away game at Buckland and into tonight’s
game against in form Cadbury heath.
It’s good to see Mike Grist is recovering well from his knee
injury which has dogged him throughout preseason, and we
predict he will be back within two weeks.
We have also said goodbye to Tauren Williams, who has
rejoined Almondsbury. Tauren has been a fantastic player
for us, but unfortunately for him the last two seasons have
been hampered with serious injuries. However in pre-
season he has worked hard on his fitness, we both had an
honest, open and respectful conversation and it was
decided he would move on to get the game time he
deserved. I not only thank him but also his dad and grandad
who have supported us home and away even when Tauren
wasn’t playing. I’m sure you will all share me in wishing him
well and thank him for all he has achieved at the club.

                                      Thanks for your support
                                      John Allen
