Welcome to the Lancer Scott Stadum
Good afternoon and welcome to the
Lancer Scott stadium for this afternoon‘s
visit of Cadbury Heath FC. I hope their
supporter’s, officials and players enjoy
their day with us having made the short
trip across Bristol.
Before you read the following, other than
3 points at Briz, yes we did have a great
Xmas, thank you.
It’s 30 days since we played the Heathens
at their ground. From 3pm that day until
now, this hobby of ours has been
frustratingly INCONSISTENT!!
Results, Referring standards, Player performances and availability, totally
inconsistent. Cadbury Heath dominated the game for 60 minutes, first to
everything, yet we created more than enough chances to get something, we were
worse at Brislington, yet we get points against Keynsham and high flying
Ilfracombe and could have won both. We are suffering from suspensions, some
players should really keep their mouths shut! Yet the Ilfracombe game was good
quality, entertaining yet an official saw fit to send off 3 players and book 6!
Availability, well that could be an article on its own, but please remember we live
in very, very different times and I will defend some players.
Even our Reserves are at it! A great run then 2 sloppy performances.
But I suppose it could be worse, this time last year we kicked a ball on December
th
19 at Wells and that was it for the season.
We have had some very encouraging performances from new, younger players like
Tom, Joel, Reece, Alfie, allied to natural ability they all have very good attitudes,
which will serve them very well in the future. At the other end of the scale we
welcome former Bristol Rovers professional and Bath City midfielder out of
retirement, Lewis Hogg. This season he has been a regular spectator here at the
Lancer Scott and Beech has persuaded him to dust off his boots to help the cause.
Look out for a few more new faces in the coming weeks.
I wish you all a happy and healthy New Year.
Thank you for your support today, enjoy the game and please respect the officials.
UP THE STAGS
Mike,
Chairman
