Beech’s Bench Talk

Good Afternoon and welcome to the lancer
        Scott stadium.

First of all I would like to wish you all a
        happy new year!

Since my last notes where I quoted
December was a big month for us…. It
turned out to be a difficult one! We started
off with good point at home to a strong
Keynsham side which put us in confident
mood going into big game away to today’s
opponents Cadbury Heath. Things didn’t go
to plan and we were comfortably beaten 3-1
and if I’m honest the score could of been 5-5
with the amount of chances both teams
created along with us missing penalty! But
let’s not beat around the bush, my myself
and the players know it wasn’t good enough
and a few stern words were needed!
Next up we were home to 5th place Ilfracombe who were in good form. As you
know, availability and suspensions haven’t been good and we were looking for a
reaction after the Cadbury Heath game. This led to a few changes and it seemed
to work as we started on the front foot by taking the game to iifracombe. With
everyone working hard we took the lead through the returning Connor Hartley
but it was short lived as we lost Charlie Saunders for a 2nd yellow followed by a
equaliser! Shortly after the equaliser we were down to 9 men when George
Brimson was shown a straight red. The lads left on the pitch worked there socks
off and nearly took all 3 points when Conor had a shot cleared off the line and
Sam Price effort hit the post in injury time, but we will take a point against a
good side. Our last outing we travelled away to Brislington on 27th and wow,
didn’t we let ourselves down! Not good enough all round and were comfortably
        beaten!!!!
We start the new year with a massive game against today’s opponents Cadbury
Heath who are down there with us. We all know that it’s important to get
something from todays game and as a management team we will be looking for
a massive reaction from the players. We welcome Charlie Saunders, Lewis
Coombes back from suspension, Sam Thomas back from a knee injury and you
will also see a few new faces in the starting line up!!

Get behind the lads and enjoy the game
        Beech
