Manager’s Viewpoint
There has been a few games played since our last match day program was
produced
That program was for the Wrington Redhill fixture.
It turned out to be an afternoon that will stick long in the memory. We massively
under performed and looked doomed. Trailing by 3 goals with 70 minutes gone.
But the lads turned it around to grab a 4-3 win !! Yes we picked the performance
to pieces a few days after as up until our first goal the performance was
unacceptable . But it showed great character from the lads to stage that sort of
comeback. The late winner by Biggo was a cracker !!!
Unfortunately we followed that result up with a bit of a drab goalless draw away at
Ilminster.
A game where we tried to force the win rather than play our normal game.
Saturday just gone , we were away at local side Cutters Friday in the County Cup.
We won 5-0. But it’s fair to say we had to work bloody hard for that win.
Despite Cutters being a couple of leagues below us , they never planned on sitting
in and hoping for the best. They come at us and made the lads graft all around
the pitch.
We welcome Chilcompton to BBS park tonight.
Undoubtedly the best team we come across last season. And the league & cup
double they achieved was very much deserved.
However , we have set our sites high this season. And if we are to achieve anything
we are going to have to at least match the likes of Chilcompton.
I’m sure it will be a cracking game.
All the best to all involved tonight.
Dickie.
