Welcome to the Lancer Scott Stadum
Following 3 home postponements, will it be
4th time lucky? Weather permitting, Good
evening, welcome to the Lancer Scott
Stadium, We extend a warm welcome to
today’s match officials Jack Broham and Jake
Richards, the players, supporters and officials
of Bridgwater Utd. FC. Say hello to former A
& B players Jacob Spence and Conor Hartley,
good players, great lads, whose families were
regular supporters when they were with us.
The long trip last Saturday down to Helston
was worth it, a great team performance and
2 outstanding goals from Miles and Kitan
gave us a deserved 2-0 win. I know it’s a
while ago but from a football perspective we got all the Christmas
presents we could ask for, namely all 6 points from the festive games
against Keynsham Town (4-0) and Cadbury Heath (3-1). We are now 3
games unbeaten.
I am pleased to announce that committee member Phil Rex has offered
to become our new treasurer. The role was vacant following the sudden
death, September of last year, of Johnathan Rogers. Beech has added 2
new faces to his coaching team, Andy Billiterri joins us from Bishop
Sutton as goalkeeping coach and Craig Cummins is already a familiar
and cheerful face here, as his son Alfie is in the 1 team.
st
Bridgwater sit in 2 place, 4 points behind Saltash but have 3 games in
nd
hand, with Mousehole just 1 point behind and Shepton Mallet not far
behind. Which will make the title race very interesting in the 2 half of
nd
the season. We are up against a very well organised and well managed
side with some talented individuals. We will have to be best on top form
tonight but it’s a challenge our lads will embrace.
The Reserves are home this Saturday, 2pm KO, against top of the table
Middlezoy Rovers. A week tonight the 1 team welcome Wellington,
st
7.30.
Thank you for your support today, enjoy the game and please respect
the officials.
UP THE STAGS,
Mike, Chairman
