A Word from the Chairman….
Good afternoon and welcome to the
Players, Officials and Supporters of
Wrington Redhill Football Club. We hope
they enjoy their visit to BBS Park the home
of Mendip Broadwalk and have a safe
journey home this evening.
Nearing the end of September and we are
over a quarter of the way through our
league games.
After a perfect August, we’ve almost had a
perfect September.
Last weekend we played Wells City Reserves in the Premier and First Division
League Cup. After an largely frustrating 1st half where passes weren’t finding
their target and decision making was poor. We got to the break at 0-0. After
some minor adjustments at half time we started much better and dominated for
long periods and should have scored several goals. In the end we ran out 2-1
winners. Subs were key to this win. We had a very strong bench and it made all
the difference.
Today we are back in league action against Wrington Redhill.
The last time we played Wrington Redhill was back in the 20/21 season as we
played them twice in the Senior Cup Group Stages, winning 2-0 and 4-2.
Wrington Redhill were promoted last season and have had a tough start to this
season having played some seasoned Somerset Prem teams. Looking at their
results I think it’s fair to say they’ve picked up points where they’d expect too.
Regardless of their recent form, most of their results have gone either way by the
odd goal so we’ll be expecting another tough test.
Work continues to improve the facility and BBS Park to bring us in line with
Western League standards. The ambition of the club is to achieve this sooner
rather than later. Only time will tell if we have the squad and the facility. As
always we’ll be giving it everything !!
Hopefully see you in the bar after for a chat about today’s game.
