The Regional Leagues...
East Midlands League
Mansfield Town took on Lincoln Utd in an important clash near the top of the Premier
Division and neither would really have been too satisfied with the resulting goalless draw. This
may well have ended any lingering hopes Mansfield had of a top two finish whilst Lincoln are
six points behind favourites Northampton Town having played the same number of games.
Oughtibridge WM follow on after a crushing 10-1 victory over Rise Park in which Emily
Fowler, Millie Kenyon and Dionne Lawton all netted doubles, with Laura Cain, Libby Hallam,
Annie Longmore and Lucy Ridley adding the others. Notts County meanwhile won 3-2 away
to Loughborough Students, whose goals came from Hollie Congrave and Francesca
Powell.
Division One North winners Arnold Eagles rounded off their successful league
campaign with a victory, 3-0 against Notts County Development. Natasha Leach was on
target twice and Emma Goddard added the other goal. In the other game, Sherwood FC
Women notched up their third win of the season, 2-0 away to St Josephs Rockware of
Worksop thanks to a brace from Rebecca Frith.
Anstey Nomads finished their season in Division One South by winning 3-2 at
Loughborough Foxes Vixens, which means they end up three points behind champions
Derby County Academy. Carmelina Colangelo, Courteney Cropper and Toni Lewis all
scored for Anstey, with Hannah Phillip and Amber Guest replying. Jessica Shaw (2), Caitlin
Hughes and Jayda Jenkins accounted for the goals as third placed Nottingham Forest
Development won 4-2 against Thrapston Town, who scored through Amelia Boddington
and Emma Robinson.
Eastern Region League
Royston Town are confirmed as the runners-up to champions Wymondham Town in the
Premier Division after Colney Heath, the only remaining team who could catch them, were
beaten 1-0 by Wroxham. Lauren Bullard scored the only goal of the game to see her team
climb above their opponents in the table and up to fourth.
The destination of the Division One South title still remains undecided but only two
teams can now finish on top. Cheshunt, who completed their fixtures last week, remain on
top of the table but Herts Vipers Women saw their chances come to an end as they lost 5-0
at Barking. A win would have seen the Vipers replace Cheshunt as leaders but a five-goal haul
from Laura Bunton saw third placed Barking take the points. AFC Sudbury are the only
other team in the race now and they need to win all of their remaining games to overhaul the
table toppers. They made a good start by scoring nine times without reply past Billericay
Town Development; Isabella Crawford, Evie Creaton and Amber Provan all netting twice
whilst Jessica Allen, Kate Edwards and Amanda Short also got on the scoresheet. Elsewhere,
Hutton ran out 5-2 winners over Leigh Ramblers.
Biggleswade Utd defeated Division One North winners Needham Market 2-1 in
their Challenge Cup group match. Shauna Lawless and Tashai Simms were both on target for
Biggleswade, with Abbie Fisher replying.
London & South East League
Ashford Town (Middlesex) continue to finish the season well and their 1-0 win at third
placed Fulham FC Women has given them a lead of nine points. Lavana Neufville scored
the only goal of the game for a result which confirms Dartford as runners-up after they
defeated Millwall Lionesses 5-0. Emily Vaughan hit a hat-trick for the Darts and she was
joined on the scoresheet by Nicha Dyett and Amy Panayi. Sophie Manzi (2), Saskia Philp and
Hannah Baptiste were on target as Dulwich Hamlet won 4-1 away to New London
Lionesses whilst Khyri McKenzie netted for Saltdean Utd in their 1-1 draw with Denham
Utd, who scored through Kayleigh Currivan.
