Message from the President

Hi everyone,

Welcome to you all to help celebrate 25 years since the league was
founded in 98/99. I hope you enjoy the day.

At the inaugural AGM the league started with eight teams, Cam
Bulldogs Res, City of Gloucester, Cheltenham Ladies Res, R.A.F
Lyneham Ladies, Cirencester Ladies, Swindon Spitfires, Tetbury
Town and Warden Hill Ladies.

What an amazing journey that now sees the league with three
divisions.

This is due to everyone that has been involved over the years. Their
hard work and commitment has enabled the league to grow.

The original committee were, Tony Simpson (Chair/Sec), Tracey
Collier (Vice Chair), Gordon Perrett (Treasurer), Lesley Newman
(Registration & fixtures Sec) and myself as Referee Sec. Gordons
family and Lesley, along with her husband Derek, continue to
support the league. At one point in this journey, we had not only
Lesley and Derek Newman helping with the administration of the
league but also their two children Matthew and Keeley.
When Gordon passed away we renamed the league cup in his
memory. He was not only a gentleman but a person who had great
footballing knowledge who was always there to help and give sound
advice.

Peter McPherson was our first President from 2002 – 2010. Peter
lived in Bristol and was a great advocate for women’s football.

Hopefully today we will see some of the past officers and players
attend to help celebrate
