It has been a busy week for Manchester United as they bid to step up their Barclays WSL title
challenge with three new arrivals at the club.
United are delighted to announce the signing of 21-year-old Canadian international
defender Jayde Riviere on a contract running until the end of the 2024-25 season.
Jayde made her full international debut at just 16 years old and has since gone on to
make 36 senior caps for Canada and was part of their Olympic Gold winning team at the
Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games, as well as securing two silver CONCACAF medals for
       her country.
Jayde Riviere said: “I am a huge Manchester United fan, so this is a dream come true
for me to sign here. I’m really looking forward to developing and learning at this huge
football club, and I can’t wait to use all my playing attributes to help us achieve our joint
       goals on the pitch.”
27-year-old Norwegian international midfielder Lisa Naalsund has joined on a
contract running until the end of the 2025-26 season.
Lisa joins United from SK Brann, where she spent 4 seasons with the Toppserien side,
winning two league titles in the process.
On the international stage, Lisa made her full Norway debut in 2021, when she
replaced now fellow Red Vilde Boe Risa against Sweden, having represented her country at
       every age group from under-15.
She commented: “Manchester United is a great football club and I’m very excited to be
here. The club is full of nice people and I’m really looking forward to playing in front of the
amazing fans. It’s great to come to a club that has everything to play for this season – I love
that. It’s going to be great!”
The third arrival at the club is the loan signing of 25-year-old French international
Estelle Cascarino for the rest of the 2022-23 season.
Estelle joins United from Paris Saint-Germain, where she spent the previous two
seasons, following periods with Bordeaux, Paris FC and Olympique Lyonnais – winning two
Division 1 titles and two French Cups in her career.
Estelle made her full international debut for France in 2017 in a friendly against
Ghana, after representing her country at all age groups from under-16.
Estelle said: “I am so happy and excited to be here. I want to grow as a player and a
person, and help the team win trophies. On the pitch I am a fighter and like to help the team
in both attack and defence. I cannot wait to get started here in England.”
United manager Marc Skinner said of his new arrivals: “Jayde is an exciting young
player who matches the long term version of Manchester United, and our continued belief
in nurturing the best young talent in the game. We have been monitoring Jayde for a long
time and believe she has the attributes to become an excellent footballer.
“We are delighted she has signed her first professional contract with us and look
forward to seeing the quality she will add to the group.
“We played against Estelle in the Toulouse Cup in the summer, and it was clear to see
what she can add to our group. Estelle will add quality and versatility both in and out of
       possession.
“She can play in midfield or central defence with excellent technical ability and a
calmness that is inherent of a player who trusts in her own ability. We’re looking forward to
working with Estelle, as we build a highly competitive, forward-thinking team.”
“We’re excited to welcome Lisa to Manchester United; where she will bring a wealth of
top level experience, playing in the heart of midfield. Her mentality, box to box driving runs,
and desire to win, will continue to add a variance of skill and quality to the team. We look
forward to integrating her into our group.”
