Ian Traylor – Ian originally singed for the Martyrs in 2011 after impressing in the
local leagues in South Wales. Ian would go on to become a fans favourite at
Penydarren Park finishing 7 of his 10 seasons here as top goal scorer, and making
over 400 appearances. In June 2020, Ian departed the club to join Cymru Premier
Club, Penybont FC. In 2021, Ian then rejoined the Martyrs ahead of the 2021/22
Season.
Tom Hillman – Tom joined in the summer of 2020 originally before leaving after
the ‘mothballing’ and playing a short spell at Redditch United. Hillman came
through the Newport County youth team and went on to make a couple pf First
Team appearances. Hillman spent the 2019/20 season with Mangotsfield United
and Larkhall Athletic scoring 11 goals.
Eli Phipps – Eli initially signed ahead of the 2020/21 season, however due to the
mothball decision, he left to join Carmarthen Town. Dean Clarke then resigned the
striker in July 2021. Eli has also spent time at Cardiff City, Colchester United,
Welling United, Weston Super Mare, Barry Town United & Penybont FC.
Alex John – Alex joined the Martyrs during the pre-season of 2021, after his
release from Yeovil Town. Alex, who is originally from the Cynon Valley, spent 3
years at Yeovil, including a loan spell during that period at EFL Championship team,
Hull City.
Omer Behaldeen – Originally from Sudan, Omer joined the Martyrs ahead of the
2021/22 season, after spells in Wales with Newport County & Cwmbran Celtic.
Omer also played for former Sudanese Champions, Al-Hilal, and Club Esportiu
Mataro of the catalan region of Spain.
Toby Raison – Raison, who signed a new contract at Hereford FC ahead of the
2021/22 season, joins the Martyrs on loan until January 2022. A young and
professional centre-back who has impressed on his chances within the Hereford
first team.
Morgan Clarke – Midfielder Clarke was released by Swansea City earlier this
summer, Clarke was a regular at youth level for Swansea City featuring more
prominently for the U21’s & 23’s. After a short trial period at Dundee United,
Morgan signed for the Martyrs in August 2021.
Frazer Thomas - Thomas, 18, was released by Cardiff at the end of the 2020/21
season. Thomas joined Cardiff as a youngster and rose up through the academy
sides. Thomas, who is an attacking midfielder, spent pre-season with the Martyrs
before signing in August 2021.
