THE SQUAD YATE TOWN FC
Zak Drew - Winger
Zak joins us having topped the scoring charts for Cinderford Town last season in the
Southern League Division One after originally starting out at Bristol City. An attacking wide
player with excellent energy levels and finishing standards. Zak is another Hartpury graduate
and member of the England University team.
Louis Evans - Goalkeeper
Louis is young keeper who has already this pre season showcased his shot stopping ability.
Louis also represents Hartpury university where he is currently completing his studies. A
reliable character who will push hard to compete for a place in the team this season.
Landon Golding - Defender
Landon joins on loan from Chippenham town where he’s gained first team experience in the
National League South. A ball playing central defender who demonstrates good athleticism
and a player who enjoys defending.
Matt Green - Forward
Striker Matt Green joins this season bringing a wealth of football league experience. Matt’s
career started at Newport County before representing clubs such as Mansfield, Oxford,
Birmingham and Lincoln City where he won the EFL Trophy in 2018.
Ben Hammet - Central Midfielder
Ben arrives at the club this year and is another talent to emerge from Hartpury University.
Ben has impressed with his solid tackling and ability to put his body on the line in tough
situations. Hailing from Bury St Edmonds Ben spent time with AFC dbury before his move to
Gloucestershire.
Martin Horsell - Goalkeeper
‘Horse’ is an experienced keeper who re-joins the Bluebells this season from league rivals
Swindon Supermarine. During his spells away Horse enjoyed a great spell under current boss
Peter Beadle at Hereford FC where they had many successful moments. A great leader who’s
experience will be vital this season.
Liban Ibrahim - Central Midfield
After scooping player of the season and being voted supporters player of the season at
Paulton Rovers last term, Liban opted to move to Yate to test himself at Southern Premier
level. A hugely enthusiastic midfielder who shows great desire to improve himself and the
team with his effortless running in the middle of the pitch.
Charlie Johnson - Defender
Left footed defender Charlie is a new addition to the club this year. Having turned out last
season for local side Roman Glass St George Charlie will looking to cement his position in
the side higher up the pyramid. Charlie is also a member of the successful Hartpury
University football team. Previous clubs Evesham United and Roman Glass St George.
