game, but it was not enough away to Rotherham Utd Whitehill, Jessica Broadhurst, Caitlin
Cooper and Anaia Willoughby the scorers in a 3-1 win.
While Bentley are firm favourites to lift the Division One title (and Staveley similarly so in
Division Three), the Division Two title race is much more wide open. Three teams are on 21
points with fourth placed Mosborough just two points behind. Handsworth Development,
who are top by virtue of a superior goal difference, have played more games than the others. They
suffered a first home defeat of the season, but almost salvaged a point against Mosborough.
Emily Clayton and Emma Rowland were on target to reduce the arrears after Mosborough had
forged a three-goal advantage through Beth Tonner (2) and Leah Kerr. Penistone Church are
second and they almost doubled their goal difference thanks to a 12-0 win at bottom team
Sheffield City who have lost all ten. Jess Ross netted four times and Jessica Barrow a further
three, Keeley Green (2), Emilia Morris, Lucy Poskitt and Courtney Wragg were on target for
Penistone who registered the highest score in the division this season. Lucy Shuttleworth (2), Zoe
Blythe, Lacie Dodsworth and Tasha Lindley netted for Swallownest who are third following a
5-0 victory over Sheffield Utd Community Development who failed to score for the first
time this season. Bethany Goldthorpe, Steph Marsland and Sarah Vickers scored for
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic in their 3-1 success at Mexborough Athletic, Laura
Ferguson on target for the hosts.
The top trio in Division Three remain unchanged and likely to stay in that order. Leaders
Staveley Miners Welfare made it 11 wins from 11 with Carly Rowlands on target four times, plus
Sophie Ruck and Danielle Taylor on the mark in a 6-2 win at West End Terriers whose replies
came from Melissa Bell and Nicola Grayson. AFC Norton Woodseats, in second place,
recorded a fifth clean sheet in six away games, goals from Ellie McHugh and Kat Pattillo giving
them a 2-0 victory at Wickersley Youth. Third placed Dearne & District went ahead
through Emma Fleetwood, but were pegged to a 1-1 draw against Kiveton Park Res, Tiff Clarke
their scorer.
Somerset League
Despite not having a game on Sunday, Pen Mill remain five points clear at the top after Bath
City Women went down to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Portishead Town Res, for whom
Maisy Ruffle scored both goals. Wells City replaced Paulton Rovers Res in fourth after
winning their meeting 3-2, thanks to Abby Gray and Victoria Groody as well as an own goal. Tilli
Davidson was on target four times and Hollie Stanmore added the other as Bishop's Lydeard
Res edged out Woodspring Women by the odd goal in nine.
A 5-0 victory away to Ashton FC Women has confirmed Burnham Utd as Champions
of Division Two North. Vanessa Brill bagged a brace, with Charlie Longhorn, Lucy Stacey and
Caitlin Stevens also on target, to give Burnham the result they required to put them in an
unassailable position. Berrow stay in second although they were beaten 3-2 by Paulton
Rovers Development, despite goals from Danielle Halifax and Emily Moreton. Sherise Binns
(2) and Natalee Elmer got on the scoresheet as Cheddar also won 3-2 against Porlock, who
replied through Elizabeth Darby and Georgia Perkins, whilst Charlotte Suktern netted five times
for Hutton as they beat Woodspring
Women Res 8-1, with Kelly Edwards, Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire
Charlotte Lewis and Chelsea Fletcher adding
the others. PREMIER DIVISION P W D L F A Pts
