Accies integrate women’s team
Hamilton Academical FC is thrilled to announce the
integration of the Hamilton Academical Women's side
into the football club. The move will cement and improve
the infrastructure around the Accies women's side as
they compete in Scotland's top flight this season.
The integration will also see significant
investment in resources which will work to the benefit of
the club.
The club is also in the stages of planning joint
commercial ventures and opportunities which will be
hugely beneficial to Hamilton Academical Football Club
in its entirety.
Chief Executive Colin McGowan told the club's
official website: "We are thoroughly delighted to see the
full integration of both our fantastic men's and women's football teams moving forward.
"We have watched with great pride the fantastic and staggering growth of the women's
game in Scotland for quite some time. We are extremely proud to have our women's side
competing in Scotland's top flight this year.
Secretary for the Women's side Robert Watson said: "I am really excited by the
developments of the last few weeks. We have been growing our partnership together for several
years and this integration is the next step in that fantastic relationship.
"I would like to thank George Cairns and Colin McGowan for their incredible support and
determination to continuing to support our work over the last several years.
"This integration allows us to build strong foundations and infrastructure but also enables
us to do our part for the football club. This is a fantastic club with a fantastic reputation across
Britain and we are delighted to be a part of that."
