Sheffield & Hallamshire League
The season’s opening round of fixtures produced 64 goals in 13 games with just two teams failing
to score. Rotherham Utd Whitehill were the top scorers in Division One, winning 5-1 at home
to Oughtibridge Res thanks to goals from Eva Butler (2), Brooke Robinson (2) and Jess
Broadhurst. Rotherham were newcomers last season and did very well in Division Three before the
season was curtailed. Also new to the division are Wakefield Trinity U21, though Trinity were
represented last season by their Development side. Emily Walker and Charlotte Thomas were
Trinity’s scorers in a 3-2 reverse away to Sheffield Wednesday Res whose replies came from
Rayanne Haywood, Abbie South and an opponent. Another new name is Barnsley
Development, a third team for Barnsley Women. They drew 2-2 at Sheffield Utd Community
Foundation, both of whose goals came from Caitlin Cooper. Loren Turner and Sam Hallam were
the respective scorers as AFC Bentley drew 1-1 at home to Handsworth.
