Good afternoon!
After three tricky away trips, we have our second
home game of the season, and we would like to
welcome everyone associated with Helston to
Keynsham for this afternoon’s game.
After beating Ashton & Backwell 3-0 at home on
the opening day of the season, with goals form
Metters, Harley & Will, we have had to visit
Brislington, Tring (FA Cup) & Cadbury Heath.
Those that saw us against Ashton & Backwell, I
hope they can appreciated the effort the team
put in and apart from 15 minutes at the start &
end of the game, we dominated the match and
played some good football. That gave us
confidence going into our local derby against
Brislington. I have to say our first 45 minutes was
probably the best a Keynsham team has played.
We went in 3 – 0 up at half time after playing
some outstanding football with Will again scoring two, & Jamie Noble scoring right
on half time. In the second half, we managed the game superbly to keep our
second clean sheet on the bounce and take another 3 points.
We had a break from the league last week as we made the long trip to Tring in the
FA Cup. Unfortunately, we lost 3-0 in a strange game when we had Mike Grist sent
off early in the second half, which surprised pretty much everyone in the ground.
Despite the defeat, we took lots of positive into Wednesday night’s game, another
derby against Cadbury Heath. Although not hitting the heights of last week against
Brislington, the team showed great
character to get back in the game
after being 1 down, to win 2-1 with
a brace from Will.
As a management team we are
obviously delighted with our start to
the season, but credit goes to all the
players who have been outstanding
since returning to pre-season.
Thank you for your continued
support and I hope you enjoys
today’s game..
