The quarter finals of the FAW Women’s Cup were due to take centre stage over the weekend,
however unfortunately two of the games got caught by the weather and were postponed.
The other two scheduled ties did take place though and Genero Adran League leaders
Cardiff City Women kept their hopes of a potential trophy ‘treble’ alive with a 6-0 victory
       over Abergavenny Women.
Lisa Owen got the ball rolling for City by giving them the lead midway through the first
half and Phoebie Poole made it two just ahead of half time. Evie Hughesand Megan Saunders
added further goals early in the second half, before Lily Billingham and Hollie Smith crowned
the win by also getting on the scoresheet.
The last remaining team from outside the top two tiers have bowed out of the
competition, Cardiff Wanderers going down to a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Briton Ferry
Llansawel. The match guaranteed that a team from outside the top flight would be in the
semi finals and Lowri Baker and Lucy Powell got Ferry off to a flying start, putting them two
ahead inside the opening quarter hour, a lead which they took into half time. Ela Roberts
made it three, eight minutes after the restart, before Jade Crofts gave Wanderers renewed
hope by pulling a goal back just after the hour mark. Ferry captain Lowri Ridings restored the
three-goal advantage just over ten minutes later and Olivia Townsend rounded off the scoring
       shortly afterwards.
The two postponed ties have been re-arranged for this coming Sunday. In the meantime
the draw for the semi finals has been made, conducted by Ianthe Mumford, and has produced
       the following ties:
