This evening we extend a very warm welcome
from the Keynsham Town FC committee to the
players, officials & fans of Street for this
Toolstation Western League Premier Division
encounter.
We would also like to welcome our match officials
to Crown Fields tonight, referee Richard Lawrence
and his two assistants, Carl Peters & Kevin Lewis.
The lads were finally back in action last Wednesday after an 18-day lay off
with a visit to Roman Glass St George. After dominating the first 20
minutes, we fell behind to one of the Simpson family, but Captain Marvel
Gristy equalised only 2 minutes later with another superb far post header
from a corner. That’s 4 goals in 3 games for this particular Mitchell brother
(as christened by Twitter)!
Jord Anstey was shown a straight red on 35 minutes for a “professional”
foul, so we then had to battle for an hour with 10 men. The lads showed
great resilience, with Ash in supreme form between the sticks, and actually
had chances to steal a victory…..but the hosts finally got a lucky winner in
the 95 minute. Hugely frustrating for all Ks who were there, but that’s
th
football.
We are on the road for our next game with a visit to high-flying Hallen this
Saturday, before Odd Down visit Crown Fields on Saturday 21 March
st
(15:00 kick-off).
I hope everyone enjoys the game this evening, and thanks as always for
your loyal support!
Don’t forget that you can keep up with the club’s news during the season
on our website (keynshamtownfc.org.uk), Facebook (Keynsham Town
Football Club) and Twitter (@KeynshamTownFC).
