Jersey club St Peter plan to restart their women's team from next season, potentially bringing the
number of sides in the Jersey FA's Women's League to six.
The club already has an interested sponsor and has appointed Ciaran Pack, a qualified
Level 2 coach with a degree in Sports Therapy, as manager. Ciaran coached with the Blackpool FC
Ladies team for two seasons, before returning to Jersey in 2020.
St Peter are seeking both experienced players and enthusiastic and committed
newcomers and are inviting anyone interested to make early contact with Ciaran either by email
- ciaranpack1998@gmail.com - or phone 07456 002044.
A statement from the club read: "St Peter have first class facilities both on and off the
pitch and intend to fully embrace the ladies game. As soon as the team reaches a competitive
standard, the club will seek entry into off-island County or National competitions. St Peter remain
the only Channel Island team to have played in the English Ladies FA Cup which they did for three
seasons from 2004 until 2007.
"Ladies football is now the fastest growing sport worldwide, its status and standards has
risen in recent years and nowhere faster than the English game. St Peter FC has strong
connections with professional clubs and hopes to use those connections to ensure that talented
players who aspire to playing the game at a higher level, are given the opportunity to impress
those clubs.
"The return of St Peter FC next season will be a major boost for the ladies game as a
whole. Older girls 16 and above and ladies, both experienced players and those who believe they
could be attracted to the game, are encouraged to make contact and judge for themselves."
St Peter's inclusion, and the potential for relaxed travel restrictions by the start of the
2021-22 season, means a CI Women's League involving Guernsey Ladies could feature seven
teams. St Peter last ran a women's side in 2017-18, when they finished third in the table behind
St Paul's and St Lawrence.
