Orchard Welsh Premier Women's League leaders Swansea City
made it eight wins out of eight on Sunday with a 2-0 success away
to Abergavenny Women.
Chloe Chivers gave Swansea the lead midway through the
first half from the penalty spot and she completed her double, ten
minutes into the second half, for a result which keeps the Swans
two points clear at the top.
Cardiff Met Women ensured they stayed hard on
Swansea’s heels, thanks to a 3-0 victory over Aberystwyth Town. Met went in front
after seven minutes through Elianna Chavez and Steph Turner added a second at the
midpoint of the first half. Erin Murray wrapped up the win with the third goal, three
minutes from time.
Cardiff City Women now complete the top three after they defeated Cyncoed
Ladies 3-0. Zoe Atkins and Catherine Walsh gave City a two-goal lead during the first
half, before Atkins rounded things off with her second goal.
Port Talbot Town maintained their recent good form and their 2-1 win against
Briton Ferry Llansawel has taken them into the top half of the table. After a goalless
first half, Rachael Ball put Port Talbot in front within three minutes of the restart and
although Lowri Baker brought Briton Ferry level with seven minutes remaining, Lauren
Amor netted an injury time goal to hand Port Talbot their fifth win of the season.
On Wednesday night, Abergavenny and Cardiff City battled out a 2-2 draw which
means that they remain in fifth and third places respectively. Abergavenny twice took the
lead during the course of the match through Lyndsey Davies and Amy Thrupp, with City
hitting back on each occasion with
