The top two in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South, Farnborough and
Hayes & Yeading United, both won again on Saturday to open up a three-point gap on
       third place.
Farnborough head the table by three points and have played three more games than
Hayes & Yeading due to Paul Hughes` side`s cup exploits.
Boro won 2-1 at the Avenue Stadium against fourth-bottom Dorchester Town, although
it wasn’t a vintage performance by Spencer Day’s men, who trailed to Alfie Stanley’s early
2nd minute strike right until 20 minutes from time when Elliott Buchanan finally equalised.
Then seven minutes later, the experienced striker popped up with Farnborough’s winner.
Hayes & Yeading maintained their unbeaten record with a ninth win in ten games at the
Black Gold Stadium against a Poole Town side who started the day in third spot.
A disappointing first 45 minutes which saw more bookings than efforts on goal, saw the
visitors go into the break one-up, thanks to a Moses Emmanuel penalty in the 39th minute
after a foul on Tyler Goodrham. But the second half was much different with Hassan Jalloh
adding a second for Hayes & Yeading five minutes after the restart and then Francis Amartey
making it 3-0 with 72 minutes gone on the clock. Sean Wright reduced the deficit 2 minutes
later, but Sanmi Odelusi’s free-kick in the 89th minute ensured there was to be no Poole
       comeback.
Gosport Borough slipped above Poole into third place after they inflicted another defeat
on Truro City at their temporary Bolitho Park home. Dan Wooden put Boro ahead after 33
minutes and after Tyler Harvey had hit a post for Truro, Sirigui Dembele doubled the visitors’
lead 11 minutes into the second half. Euan Pollock pulled one back for the White Tigers, but
       it came in stoppage time.
Taunton Town maintained fifth spot but were beaten 2-0 at Silver Jubilee Stadium by
Hendon, who moved up to 13th as a consequence. Wilson Carvalho gave the Greens a 31st-
minute lead after an initial shot had been cleared off the line. Then, right on half-time, Liam
Brooks doubled Hendon’s lead following a defensive lapse. Taunton improved in the second
half but Lee Allinson’s side managed to maintain a clean sheet to record three points.
Metropolitan Police, who lost their unbeaten record last weekend, got back on track with
a 1-0 win at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium against Tiverton Town to move to within a point
of Taunton in sixth. The only goal of the game finally arrived eight minutes from time when
       Liam Ferdinand broke the deadlock.
Kings Langley moved off the foot of the table after they shared a 1-1 draw at the Orbital
Fasteners Stadium against the team immediately above them, Merthyr Town, and were
replaced by Wimborne Town, who were beaten 2-0 at Harrow Borough.
Toby Raison gave the Martyrs a 28th-minute lead which Rod Collins cancelled out right on
half-time. The visitors were up against it though when they had Adam Davies sent-off just
9 minutes into the second half, but they managed to hang on for a share of the spoils.
Harrow are now eighth after their 2-0 win at Earlsmead against Wimborne.
It was goalless at the break, but Frank Keita broke the deadlock in the 67th minute and then
George Moore made sure with a second for Boro to send the Magpies to bottom spot.
Beaconsfield Town moved up a place to 18th after they were involved in a six-goal thriller
at Holloways Park against seventh-placed Salisbury. It all happened in the second half
as, following a goalless opening 45 minutes, Charlie Kennedy broke the deadlock
just three minutes after the restart to give Steve Claridge’s side the lead.
Olly McCoy equalised in the 67th minute only for Marvin Brooks to restore the
visitors` advantage just four minutes later. Scott Donnelly pulled the Rams back on
terms again in the 84th minute but once again, Salisbury rallied and re-took the
lead through Harry Baker in the 89th minute. Two minutes into stoppage time
though, Beaconsfield levelled once more with a second for McCoy.
Hartley Wintney pulled themselves up to 16th in the table after a hard-earned 1-
0 win at home against the team now immediately above them, Swindon
